8-a-side formats

The usual county 8-a-side game is 16 overs: four pairs bat four overs each, everyone bowls two, and the batting side starts on 200 and loses 5 per wicket. The Suffolk and Wiltshire sheets are laid out for it, and it fits the ECB's under 10 and 11 recommendation of 8 players and 16 to 20 overs. The Wiltshire sheet re-bowls wides and no balls; if your league does too, set Extra ball for a wide or no ball to Every over.

ECB Kwik Cricket is shorter, two overs a pair. Herts junior leagues play 100 balls: 20 overs of five balls, five per pair, with no extra balls even in the last over.

Questions

How many overs is 8-a-side pairs cricket?

16 on the Suffolk and Wiltshire sheets: four pairs of four overs. Kwik Cricket is 8 overs (two per pair) and the Herts 100-ball format is 20 five-ball overs.

Does everyone bowl in 8-a-side?

In the 16 over format each of the eight fielders bowls two overs. The scorer suggests the next bowler so the overs spread evenly and nobody bowls two in a row, and warns if someone goes over the limit.
